Meet Recap

The 2nd ranked girls varsity tennis team defended their sectional title with a 4-1 win over #5 North Central on Thursday.
The Irish got off to a quick lead at #2 singles as Meg Coleman quickly won 6-0, 6-0.
The #1 doubles team (Cole Spau & KK Combs) struggled early and were never able to recover as they lost against a very good team to even the score at 1-1.
Claire Koscielski won at #3 singles to put Cathedral back in the lead and then reigning state champion Maeve Koscielski won the deciding point at #1 singles.
The #2 doubles team of Cassie Kronenberger and Bella Montefalco won the first set 7-6 in a tightly contested affair that took as long as most of the other matches. With the event already decided, they rolled through the second set, getting a quick 5-0 lead before eventually winning 6-2.

Up next for the Irish is a regional match up against the winner of the Mt. Vernon sectional on Tuesday.
