Maria’s volleyball coach, Jean Kesterson, said “Maria is the poster child for the student athlete. She loves her teammates, has a passion for the game and she expects, through a lot of hard work, to excel in anything she sets her mind to accomplish”.

Being a class Valedictorian was a goal of Maria’s from the moment she stepped on campus. Hard work and dedication has paid off well for her both on and off the court. “On the bus trip following us winning a thrilling five setter against Center Grove to win Semi-State in 2015, Maria was using her cell phone to study for a test she was going to have the following Monday” recalls Coach Kesterson.
